Air conditioning typically comes in 2 parts, An indoor portion that moves air such as a furnace or air handler which will have an evaporator coil paired with it and an outdoor portion called a condensing unit. The condensing unit pumps refrigerant through the evaporator coil where the furnace or air handler circulates air across the evaporator coil where the heat inside the structure is absorbed and transferred to the outdoor condensing unit where the heat is removed and cool air is dispersed through the ductwork inside the home or sturcture.
